Supporting Barking and Dagenham residents with devices, data and digital skills
The Digital Inclusion Project is a partnership between Ekota Academy and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham libraries.
Together, we have created digital inclusion hubs making it easier for residents to get online, build confidence with technology and access essential digital resources. The programme is fully funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
To borrow a laptop and/or get digital skills help, residents must be library members. Library membership is free, and joining only takes a few minutes.
If you're not already a member, you can sign up at any participating library or online.
Membership allows you to:
If you’re not a member yet, simply speak to staff at any library and we will help you join or click here to join online.
Our comprehensive support package includes:
Digital Skills Training: Free classes for beginners and those looking to improve their digital confidence.
Digital Champions: Friendly, trained volunteers offering hands‑on help with daily digital tasks.
Free Data Packages: 1,200 free data packages for residents who need support staying connected.
Device Loan Scheme: Access to laptops and tablets available to borrow through our libraries.
Digital inclusion means ensuring that everyone - regardless of age, background or experience - can use technology confidently, safely, and independently.
It includes having:
